Jumarcelon started out as an Arthur Murray student himself. Realizing his passion and potential, he decided to pursue his new-found love of dancing teaching at the Silver Spring Studio. Jumarcelon loves getting his students involved in our student events and competitions as well as competing himself. When he is not busy sharing his enthusiasm for dancing, you can find him snowboarding, sailing or riding his motorcycle.
Ivanna was born in the Ukraine into a family of a conductor and a singer. She started her dance career with Ukrainian Folk dance, followed by classical dance and began performing professionally at the age of thirteen. Ivanna has won numerous championships and has competed in International Latin Dance. In 2007, with her Latin partner, she danced an opening act with Tony Dovolani and Elena Grinenko from "Dancing with the Stars". In 2013, she was a lead female dancer on the tv show "Conners". Ivanna performs regularly throughout the country. Besides her extensive dance experience, Ivanna is a renown artist, holding her Masters Degree in Fine Art and Design. Studying in Ukraine, Russia, France and United States, she developed a unique and rare style and has been exhibiting her paintings worldwide.
Alison's passion for dance began when she was just a little girl. Her love of jazz, swing and musical theatre led her to study at The American Musical & Dramatic Academy/Conservatory in New York where her affinity for the arts would continue to flourish. After college she appeared in numerous theatre productions throughout New York City while working as a dance instructor at The Alvin Ailey Institute of Dance in Manhattan. She joins the Arthur Murray team with demonstrable purpose and enthusiasm. Her goal as a teacher is to inspire and educate through the art of movement.
Growing up around Hip-Hop, street dancing, and musicians Shawn easily picked up a passion for dance. Shawn is quite the multi-tasker. He has modeled, played sports, and has been involved in dance groups. Shawn also has experience mentoring children. He loves to share the knowledge he has with others. Always one with a sunny disposition, he is as smooth with people as he is on his feet. His students are always sure to leave with a smile on their face and some funky moves.
Ashley eats, breathes, and sleeps dance! She found her passion for dance at a very young age. She has competed and performed professionally her entire life. Her dedication, hard work, and perseverance have brought her to where she is today. She realized early on that dancing for her was no longer a hobby, it was her life! Ashley enjoys educating students on the awesomeness of dancing. She is always encouraging students to soar past their goals and shoot for the moon! Her goal is to change as many lives as possible through dance. Ashley makes learning to dance fast, fun, and easy. Outside of work you will find Ashley spending time with family and friends, hiking, and of course dancing anywhere physically possible!
Luke Kresslein is incredibly excited to bring his enthusiasm for dance to Arthur Murray Dance Center Silver Spring. Luke has 6+ year of competitive dance experience in both International and American Ballroom styles. Whether it's is Waltz, Rumba or Swing, Luke is ready to work with you to make your dancing the best it can be.
Jaymesa (Jay) joined the staff at the Silver Spring Arthur Murray in January 2016. She was born and raised in Silver Spring, Md and began dancing at the age of two. Jaymesa considers dance her life and claims dance to be another form of communication. Her dance background includes Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Lyrical, and Hip Hop which then led her to pursue her studies at Barry University in Miami, FL. She graduated with a Bachelors in Fine Arts specializing in Dance Theater. After college, she moved to NYC to become part of a dance company. She accomplished her goal and became part of the Brooklyn Cyclones Dance Team, Brooklyn Bolts Dance Team, the ChoreoJoey Dance Company, and became a finalist for the Washington Wizards Dance Team while working at Dancing Classrooms in NYC! When she moved back to Maryland, she then wanted to experience the world of ballroom dancing and Arthur Murray gave her that amazing and fun opportunity! She is now eager to encourage students to dance like no one is watching. Her goal is to change peoples' lives by helping them dance their stress and worries away and to just have fun!!
